Yeah, pretty annoying. Beta 15 is out as of a few moments ago, and fixes this.

Re: Finding the right album
Hi. My question is regarding the album and year tags. It always seems to come back with a "greatest hits" album (and thus, the wrong year) for songs. I would have thought if I'd set the album to "oldest" it would come back with the original album. Setting "Oldest" is important, of course, but if yo...

MPFreaker and supported tag versions
MPFreaker supports all ID3 tag versions (1.0-2.4) for reading, and will not "upgrade" tags when writing, if possible. When it does need to change the tag version for one reason or another, MPFreaker always writes ID3 v2.4 tags. MPFreaker never needs to upgrade v2.2 tags, as they support everything n...

Re: Problem with "Song title" and "Artist&quo
But when I edit this song titles in MPFreaker, down to just Song title, in the Song title colum, MPFreaker edits the Artist to become this: Artist - Album - Tracknumber - Song title Why does it do that???? The Artist field was empty before. When MPFreaker encounters an MP3 with a missing song title...

Beta 11 available
This release includes fixes to two different crashing bugs. One was only reported once, and the other appears to have only affected OS X 10.2.8 users.

Beta 10 available
Fixed crashing bug Can now add songs to current search queue Improved song matching The crashing bug (two of them, really) didn't actually crash many people's systems, merely caused MPFreaker to hang or become partially unresponsive. Another improvement is that queued items now properly show as sti...

Re: where can I download beta 9?
I have just started using beta 8 and noticed this post that beta 9 is available. When I go to the download pages, it still has beta 8 as the download. It sounds like you need to 1) hit the reload button in your browser (while browsing the LairWare downloads page, and/or 2) remove the old MPFreaker ...

Re: CMP column
Ok.. sounds like a dumb question, but what does the Cmp column do? What do you check the boxes for? It's not a dumb question particularly because in beta 7/8 (when the feature was introduced) I neglected to mention it in the documentation at all. From beta 9's manual: Less self-explanatory is the "...

Re: search site
i guess mpfreaker only searches in amazon..., because most of my library is psy-trance could it be possible to search for info on http://www.psyshop.com ? (then i'll buy it... :) MPFreaker doesn't use Amazon at all, but it definitely is doubtful that the current version would find results for way-u...

Re: Album relation to artwork, track number, year
The question is this: songs can appear on multiple albums, which is why the "oldest" or "most common" option is available. But, are the artwork, track number, and year linked to the album that is chosen? If a song appears on both album A and album B, is it possible to get the album name set from al...

Stuff in Ultima III 2.0
I've noticed a problem with the music in the lastest version. Me too ... there were a number of sporadic problems with the .mod audio playing system. For the upcoming carbonized Ultima III, I've dropped .mod format and now use audio-only quicktime movies (currently quicktime-wrapped .mid files, but...

Beta 8 available
... released about 12 hours after beta 7  -- the nasty "blank columns" bug and the even nastier "stops scanning songs after a few minutes" bug are fixed. There still exists one longstanding crashing bug that I now know of in beta 8 (in [AMGInterface amgAlbumsWithSong:] for those of you who lo...

Ultima III 2.0
This is great news! I, for one, am psyched. Now, if I can only find my Ultima III key again... ;) Seriously, I'd buy another key, if I had to, to be able to play again in OS X. Will there be any other tweaks other than Carbonization? I'll have to look again, but the most significant things I can re...
